1 My heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. Romans 10:1

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10

1.) HOW IS SOMEONE SAVED?

Salvation comes into our lives through an internal belief, and an external confession of total allegiance.

Confess Jesus is lord

Lord = Kurios (Gk) = Yahweh (Heb)

This is not about lip service. It is a statement of allegiance. You are saying, ‘Jesus runs this life now.’ Tony Evans

In Scripture the heart is not mere emotion, but the center of who you are, where thought, will, and worship converge.

The heart believes Christ is alive. The mouth confesses He is Lord. And the whole person is changed. Douglass Moo

Have you done this?

2.) WHO CAN BE SAVED?

11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:11-13

EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON JESUS WILL BE SAVED

The Gospel is universally offered because it’s universally needed.

3.) HOW WILL PEOPLE KNOW?

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15

The Gospel must be communicated

Preach = Kerysso (gk) = Herald

Every Christian is a herald of the Gospel.

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

What am I supposed to do?

God’s heart isn’t just for our neighborhood or our nation, it’s for every neighborhood in every nation.
