Food for Thought: When God Runs
Have you ever wondered how God feels about you when you mess up, wander off, or lose your way? Many imagine Him waiting with arms crossed disappointed, distant, and cold. But Luke 15 tells a different story: a Father running.
A Shepherd searching.
A woman sweeping the house with urgency.
God’s love isn’t passive. It’s passionate. It moves. It runs. It rescues.
God isn’t waiting for you to clean up your life before He’ll accept you.
He meets you in the dirt. He covers you with His righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). He celebrates your return (Luke 15:22-24). He doesn’t tolerate your presence. He rejoices over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).
You are not too far gone. You are not forgotten.
You are being chased by grace.
The question is not whether God is pursuing you.
The question is: Will you turn around and let Him find you?
Challenge for This Week:
Ask yourself:
• Am I running from God, or running toward Him?
• Where do I need to stop striving and simply be found?
• How might I live differently if I truly believed God was chasing after me with joy?
Write a short prayer surrendering the areas where you’ve been hiding, striving, or believing you’re too broken to be loved.
Remember: You are not pursued because you are perfect — you are pursued because you are priceless.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran…”— Luke 15:20
“He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness…”— Isaiah 61:10
“The Lord your God… will rejoice over you with singing.”— Zephaniah 3:17
