DISCUSS (option 1):
This is a protocol for reading through, meditating on, and discussing Scripture. You will read through each passage 3 times (or you can just select a few from above). Before the passage is read aloud, read the prompt so you know what you are listening for during the reading of the passage. Take a few moments to contemplate then have group members share what they noticed. Read the second prompt followed by the same passage. Contemplate and discuss. Read the third prompt followed by the same passage.
Prompt 1 (noticings): What word or phrase stands out to you and why?
Prompt 2 (feelings): What feelings do you notice in the people in this passage or what feelings do you have while reading this passage?
Prompt 3 (applications): Who do you identify with most in this passage or how does it relate to your life?

DISCUSS (option 2):

John 13:1-5, 12-17
- How or who could you “wash the feet” of someone this week either literally or figuratively?
- Have you ever washed someone’s feet (or had your feet washed) before? What was that experience like for you and the receiver?

John 13:21-30
- What do you think was going through Jesus’ mind knowing that he was about to be betrayed?
- How do you think that compares to how you have felt when you were betrayed?

John 13:34-35 // Prayer of Confession
- How are you able to live out “Love one another” right now?

Isaiah 53:1-6 // Communion
- How are you preparing yourself for communion in the midst of your own pain during this time?
- How can we be more mindful of Christ on the cross followed by the empty tomb?

Matthew 26:31-35, 39-45
- In what ways is “the spirit willing, but the flesh is weak”?
- How can we be more “awake” and in tune with what God is teaching us during this time?

Matthew 26:57-66, 27:27-31
- Can you imagine what it would be like to stand by and watch Christ crucified?
- Would you have been able to speak up and what would you have said?
- How are you living that out now when people speak against Christ?

John 1:1-2, 10-11, 3:19
- How can and have you been a light in the darkness during this time?

PRAYER: Lord thank you for coming to this earth to save us. May we be filled with your light this week.
