“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10 NLT
SERMON OUTLINE
1) HISTORICAL CONTEXT
• Isaiah 41 is written during a time when Israel was under
threat from powerful empires—most notably Babylon.
The people were either in exile or facing the fear of exile.
• It’s God’s message of comfort to His people, assuring them
that He had not forgotten them and that He would
ultimately deliver them.
2) MEANING
[Five assurances we can trust in]
• “Do not fear, for I am with you” – God’s presence
is constant, even in uncertain times.
• “Do not be dismayed, for I am your God”– He reminds us
of our relationship with Him; He is our God,
personal and faithful.
• “I will strengthen you”– God provides inner strength
when we feel weak.
• “I will help you” – He offers tangible support in times
of need.
• “I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” – God
sustains us with His justice, power, and unwavering hand.
APPLICATION
For those facing fear, anxiety, or uncertainty:
This verse is a grounding truth that God is near.
We can exchange fear for faith because God Himself
is our source of help and strength.
