Title: Reclaiming Our Nation For God
Text: 1 Timothy 2:1-6
Date: June 29, 2025

Introduction: This Friday is July 4th, Independence Day! Our nation was born 249 years ago. So, we once again can proudly proclaim Happy Birthday America! We should all feel blessed by God to have been born and reared in the good ol’ USA. America is the greatest nation on earth and one of the primary reasons is our inherent right to be free. Freedom, that’s what it’s all about. Here are a few of the freedoms which we often take for granted: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to elect our own leaders, freedom to pursue happiness, freedom to defend ourselves, and freedom to achieve and succeed.

However, we should all feel burdened because of the state of our Nation. Today, America is in trouble. Our military personnel are doing an excellent job fighting the enemy around the world, but we are facing as great a threat from within our borders as we are from the diabolical global terrorists waging war around the world. This threat comes from the liberal humanists who desire to abandon the foundational ideas of our forefathers that have made our country great for over two centuries. Vance Havner (pastor, author of the past) once said, “At the rate America is decaying morally, we shall have to change our national symbol from an eagle to a vulture.” Albert Einstein (best known for developing the theory of relativity) stated “the world is not dangerous because of those who do harm. It’s dangerous because of those who watch and do nothing.” If we want to reclaim our Nation for God, action is required in three areas, as recorded in our text for today.

I. We must

. (1 Timothy 2:1-2a)

II. We must

. (1 Timothy 2:2b-3)

III.We must

Jesus . (1 Timothy 2:4-6)
