Title: A New Life In Christ (Part 2)
Text: Romans 8:18-39
Date: November 17, 2024
Introduction: Many of us, as Christians, are multimillionaires living in poverty. We think we are poor, but we are rich spiritually! We hold onto “junk” in our past which causes us great problems daily in our Christian walk. The Devil is constantly reminding us that we are really not as good as we think we are. Therefore, our attitude is that we are poor because of our old lives.
However, Paul reminds us that, as believers, “the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs which Christ” (Romans 8:16-17). So, we are rich spiritually because we are in Christ. There are numerous “riches” found in Romans, Chapter 8. These riches are not reserved for only a select few Christians, but they are for all of us who are united to Christ and indwelled by the Spirit. What comes with this new life in Jesus Christ? There are at least six blessings in this chapter. Last week we covered three of them.
— We have a new position (Romans 8:1).
— We have a new practice (Romans 8:5-8).
— We have a new power (Romans 8:9-17).
Let’s consider today three more blessings in this chapter. What are they? We have:
I. A New
II. A New
III. A New
