Isaiah 34:1-17

34:1-4 | The Lord would judge both the nations and the spiritual powers that energize them to oppose God, called here the host of heaven.

34:5-8 | God has won the battles in heaven. Now He comes to earth to deal with His enemies here, represented by the people of Edom, who became an archenemy of Judah (63:1-6; Obad.1). He is a warrior with a blood-stained sword who will attack those devoted to destruction (the people of My curse).

34:16 | The prophet claimed God’s authority for his own word and reminded the people that when the fulfillment came, they could return to the book of the Lord.
