attempting to cut thru confusion about communion with the Word… not etp…

what - 1Cor 11:24-26… “do in remembrance… proclaim Lord’s death until He comes…”

where - Acts 2:46… “every day… they broke bread from house to house…”
don’t know it all… but Word is truth… can find our answers there…

studies show toddlers ask 300 questions a day… about 25 an hour… generally, they are why… simply to get answers and understand life… adults ask 25 a day…
why… for what purpose or reason; cause or intention; mild surprise or impatience…
why occurs about 500 times in bible… not the first to ask… even God asks us why at times… life can be overwhelming… biblical answers help us be less afraid…
Gen 25:22… “why is this happening to me… so she inquired of the Lord…”
Exo 14:15… “the Lord said… why are you crying out to Me…”
Deut 15:15… “remember God redeemed you, that is why I give this command…”
1Sam 15:19… “why didn’t you obey the Lord… why did you do what was evil…”

questioning: proceeding from, or characterized by, doubt or uncertainty…
but why do we take communion… don’t get confused by etp… simplest answer is to remember what Jesus did… to proclaim His death and anticipate His return…

deeper answer is to understand how Jehovah Jireh provides in times of need…

Exo 16… “Israelites came to the Wilderness of Sin and grumbled…”
Psa 78:25… “they ate the food of angels… God gave them all they could eat…”
Col 2:17… “these are a shadow of what was to come… the substance is Christ…”
things were really bad… people starving in barren land called Sin… blamed God for their suffering… how did God respond… judgment and anger… or grace and love… the bread from heaven was God’s provision for His people dwelling in Sin…
Exo 16:3… “if only we died in Egypt… when we sat by pots of meat… ate bread… instead you brought us into this wilderness to make us all die of hunger…”
Exo 16:4-8… “I am going to rain bread from heaven for you… all you want…”
Rom 5:20-21… “where sin multiplied… grace multiplied even more…”
wilderness revealed their lack of faith… but also revealed God’s faithfulness… real issue was poor theology… thought God was source of evil… not solution to it…
Gen 50:20… “you planned evil… God planned it for good… to save many people…”
Deut 8:2-3… “God led you on entire journey to humble you… test your heart… gave you manna… so you would learn man does not live on bread alone but by every Word of God…”
Hos 4:6… “my people destroyed… by lack of knowledge… rejected knowledge…”

manna revealed God’s glory… supernatural provision… it was daily bread for all generations… fresh revelation of the bread of life every day helps us to really live…
Exo 16:6-12… “in the morning, you will see the Lord’s glory… gather as much as you need… gather every morning… preserve it for all generations…”
Exo 33:18-19… “let me see your glory… let all My goodness pass before you…”
Matt 4:4… “takes more than bread to stay alive… takes steady stream of Word…”
zao… true life; active, blessed, endless; vital power, full vigour, strong, fresh…
Matt 6:11… “give us this day our daily bread…”
now, let’s unveil the substance of that shadow found in Exo 16… satisfied their physical hunger… but wanted to give revelation of true bread that lasts forever…
John 6:1-13… “great crowd followed Him… how do we feed them… one day’s wage would not be enough… Jesus gave thanks… people had as much as they wanted… collect leftovers…”
John 6:26-29… “you’re looking for Me because you ate the loaves, don’t work for food that perishes, but food that gives life, which the Son of Man will give… what can we do to do the works of God… this is the work of God, that you believe in the One He has sent…”
John 6:31-35… “My Father gives you the true bread from heaven… the bread of God is the One who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world… I am the bread of life…”
sickness, disease, lack, fear, worry, death all come when we wander in wilderness of Sin… they are enemies… Jehovah-Jireh provides victory over those enemies…
when we prepare a table of communion before them and receive our daily bread…
Psa 23… “I lack nothing… He renews my life… You prepare table in presence of enemies…”
John 6:50-58… “I am the living bread that comes from heaven… the bread I give for the life of the world is my flesh… unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man, you do not have life in yourselves… because my flesh is true food… one who feeds on Me will live…”
Rom 5:12-21… “sin entered world thru one man and death thru sin… if by one man’s sin death reigned… how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and gift of righteousness reign in life thru the one Man, Jesus Christ…”
