DQ: Psalmonic Presence
November 19, 2023

INTRODUCTION: With what food do you most enjoy balsamic vinegar?

READ: Psalm 77:2-10

Begin the time by praying together.

DISCUSS
1. As balsamic vinegar is reduced through simmering over a heat source, what in your life has made you feel “reduced” so that you have been drawn to seek God?
2. In Italian, the word “balsamico” gives a sense of being like a healing balm. What Psalm or other Biblical passage has been healing or restorative for you? What is it about that passage that particularly speaks to your soul?
3. What do you think Pastor Michael meant by using the idea of “bubble wrapping” our prayers? Why do you think he found that to be a good metaphor to make a point?
4. How would you rate yourself in regard to your transparency with God? If your answer is anything below 100%, why do you think that is the case?
5. Take 5 minutes to write your own Psalm for yourself. Do not feel you need to write a poem, but rather, how you feel at this moment in your life. After completing it, read it in your mind to God alone.
6. How would you say that God has saved you from what seemed to be something “slaying” you in life?

PRAY: Thank you, Lord, for the healing that Your word can bring. Please help me to live more fully so that my prayers can be more genuine. Thank you for Your grace that was given so that I can learn to enjoy my imperfect life. I realize that life has trials and difficulties but help me to KNOW that you are with me through ALL of life. Amen
