Ezekiel 27:1-36
27:3 | The proud city of Tyre had become rich and prosperous through its busy trading fleet, and for much of history avoided the fate of towns built on the mainland by constructing a strong fortress on an island just off the coast, largely protected from periodic invasion. It was not impregnable, however, as Nebuchadnezzar demonstrated when he conquered the city.
27:33 | The Phoenicians who founded Tyre were known throughout the Mediterranean world for their maritime prowess. The city became extremely wealthy through its merchant fleet, trading with partners throughout the Mediterranean region.
