Luke 12:22-26 NIV
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

There are only two things in life that you have to worry about.
Whether you’re healthy or you’re sick.

If you are healthy, you ain’t got nothing to worry about, but if you’re sick you have two things to worry about.
Whether you going to get better or whether you going to get worse.

If you get better, you ain’t got nothing to worry about, but if you get worse, you got two things to worry about.
Whether you going to live or whether you going to die.

If you live, you ain’t got nothing to worry about, but if you die, you have two things to worry about.
Whether you going to Heaven whether you going to hell.

If you go to Heaven, you ain’t got nothing to worry about, but if you go to hell, you got two things to worry about.
Original or extra crispy.

Believers Are Salt and Light
Matthew 5:13-16
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

-believers, like a city that cannot be hidden, should be a visible presence in the world

-light, good works and righteous behavior of a Christians, which should be evident to those around them.

-the purpose of the light is not for self-promotion, but to point others towards Jesus so that they can see His good works and glorify the Father.
Stronger Together
Example of a single log vs bonfire. The single log, when put with other logs that are on fire, will be brighter and hotter than by itself.

-it is vital to your walk to surround yourself with others who are on fire.

Proverbs 13:20 New King James Version
20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

-key phrase here is “He who walks with”. It is not enough to just know wise men just like it is not enough to just know Jesus.

James 2:19 New International Version
19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Proverbs 27:17 New King James Version
17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Proverbs 27:15-16 The Message
15-16 A nagging spouse is like the drip, drip, drip of a leaky faucet; You can’t turn it off, and you can’t get away from it.
King James Version - 16 Whoever [a]restrains her restrains the wind, And grasps oil with his right hand.

Proverbs 27:17-19 The Message
Your Face Mirrors Your Heart
17 You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another.

2 Corinthians 6:14 – do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.

-Just as iron is shaped and refined by contact from another piece of iron, so too individuals can be shaped and refined by interactions of others. We need friends that will challenge ourselves, encourage growth, and give support when needed.

Proverbs 27:18 If you care for your orchard, you’ll enjoy its fruit; if you honor your boss, you’ll be honored.

Luke 16:10-12 New King James Version
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own

Proverbs 27:19 Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart.

-just as water accurately reflects the face, one’s life and behavior will reveal the true nature of their heart.

Mathew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Now, how do we practically accomplish this:

Acts 4:32 New King James Version
Sharing in All Things
32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

Hebrews 10:24-25 New King James Version
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
