Courage to Share Your Faith: Your Story Changes Lives!
October 6, 2024
Matt Roe
Matthew 28:17-20
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
What causes us to NOT tell our story?
1. Fear of Rejection
2. Fear of Offending
3. Social Stigma
4. Lack of Confidence
5. Past Negative Experiences
6. Cultural Pressure
7. Fear of being Perceived as being Hypocritical
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
Three words will provide the courage to share our faith.
We share our story.
- This was my life
- Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
- Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
- Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is what happened when I received Christ.
- Romans 10:9 …that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
- 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
- Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Tell people how Jesus has changed your life.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Who’s your ONE?
Your story changes lives!
