Luke 22:14-16 ‘When the hour had come, Jesus sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. Then He said to them, ‘With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.’”

How To Be Thankful

a) When You Are Stressed
John 22:17-20 “Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, ‘Take this and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.’ And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.’”
Mark 14:32-34a “They went to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and Jesus said, ‘Sit here while I go and pray.’ He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, ‘My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death.’”
Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.”

b) When You Have Needs
Matthew 14:15-16 “That evening the disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.’ Jesus said, ‘That isn’t necessary - you feed them.’”
Matthew 14:17-19 “‘All we have here are five loaves and two fish,’ they replied. ‘Then bring them here to Me,’ Jesus said. He ordered the people to sit down on the grass; then He took the five loaves and the two fish, looked up to heaven, and gave thanks to God. He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.”
Matthew 14:20-21 “Everyone ate and had enough. Then the disciples took up twelve baskets full of what was left over. The number of men who ate was about 5,000 not counting the women and children.”
Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

c) When You Are Betrayed
Luke 22:21 “But here at this table, sitting among us as a friend, is the man who will betray Me.”
Matthew 26:14-16 “Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests and asked, ‘How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?’ And they gave him thirty pieces of silver. From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.”

d) In Every Situation
Philippians 5:18 “No matter what happens, always be thankful…”

The big idea: Choose the Jesus way!
