Blessed: Lord Have Mercy
God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy. —Matthew 5:7
Merciful — Full of pity, merciful, compassionate. Acting consistently with the revelation of God’s covenant; His Word.
I have many more things to say about this mercifulness. It is so wide a subject that I cannot give all its details. It certainly means a love to God at bottom, which shows itself by merciful desires for the good of God’s creatures. —Charles Spurgeon
Love First — Followers of Jesus should be characterized by genuine love and deep commitment to one another and our neighbor, which flows from our whole love of God.

1. To those that need fed
The merciful, through love, account another person’s misery as their own; they weep over the calamities of others, and out of their own property, feed the hungry and clothe the naked. —Erasmus

To be merciful extends itself to the full forgiveness of all personal offenses. “Blessed are the merciful,” that is, those persons who do not take to heart any injuries that are done them, any insults, intended or unintended. —Charles Spurgeon
To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in me. —C. S. Lewis
There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. —James 2:13
