“The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.” —Psalm 145:9

In a broad sense, God’s goodness stands for all of his moral attributes. But
considered specifically, God’s goodness is his generosity. God is generous to all in some ways (see Psalm 145:9 and Matt. 5:45), but he is especially generous to his people, and we see this generosity on display in the priestly blessing of Numbers 6:22-27.

Provision and Protection: “The LORD bless you and keep you”

Goodwill: “The LORD make his face shine on you”

Attention: “The LORD turn his face toward you”
