Psalm 103
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.

8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
Psalm 103:13-14
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

Amos 5:21-24
21 “I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
your assemblies are a stench to me.

Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,
I will have no regard for them.
23 Away with the noise of your songs!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.

Matthew 25:31-46
31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon
his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the
people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right
hand and the goats at his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit
the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed
me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your
home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in
prison, and you visited me.’
37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you?
Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked
and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my
brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the
eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I
was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your
home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t
visit me.’
44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked
or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my
brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
1 Peter 5:7-9
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for
someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of
believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
James 1:27
27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and
widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that
you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of
God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you
have done everything, to stand.
Matthew 21:12-17
12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He
overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is
written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a
den of robbers.’”
14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the chief
priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in
the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.
16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,
“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.
