Week 1: Ephesians 1:1-14
Every spiritual blessing is available to us.
Week 2: Ephesians 1:15-23
It’s one thing to be loved, it’s another thing to live as if you are loved.
Ephesians 1—3:
Orthodoxy: Having the right
Ephesians 4–6:
Orthopraxy: Having the right
You are saved by grace.
you do good works.
Jesus didn’t just save you
He saved you
To belong to His family.
Have you ever felt like an o_utsider_?
Moved to a new place
Sat alone at lunch
Awkward conversation
Didn’t belong
We are more connected than ever… yet…
WHAT IF?
The church was meant to be the one place every wall came down?
Ephesians 2:1-3
As for you, you were
used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of
the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are
disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the
cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the
rest, we were by nature
We were dead in sin
We followed the world
We all lived for ourselves
Sin separates us from God and each other.
Ephesians 2:4-7
seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that
in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,
expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
You are not just forgiven—you are made alive!
Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not
from yourselves, it is the
boast. For we are God’s handiwork,
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
You are saved by grace… for a purpose!
Not by works
God prepared good works in advance
You have a role in the family
Ephesians 2:11-13
Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and
called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the
circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember
that at that time you were
citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise,
without hope and
who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:19-20
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow
the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as
the chief
He Himself is our peace
He broke down the wall of hostility
APPLICATION
• Have you truly believed that God’s grace makes you alive?
• Do you see yourself as just “saved from hell,” or “saved for
family”?
• Are there walls in your heart—biases, pride, fear—that
Christ wants to tear down?
Jesus didn’t just save you
something—
He saved you
something:
To belong to His family.
What if our church became known as the most unified, welcoming
place in our city?
What if people walked in here and said, ‘I don’t know what it is, but
these people love like family’?
That will require taking personal responsibility.
YOU BELONG!
