Series Intro: It doesn’t take much to see that we are living in what the bible calls - The End Times. With every world news event or report, it’s like bible prophecy is being fulfilled in real time. But, what do we do with this information? How should we be responding to it all as believers? And where exactly are we in the timeline of the end of the world? This series will serve to take us on a biblical journey through the book of Revelation that greatly detail the events, timeline and purpose to the End of the World as we know it and help us understand it with great sobriety, faith and encouragement.

Eschatology - study of the end of things.

MATTHEW 24:35 NIV
Heaven and earth will pass away…

EPHESIANS 1:19-20 NLT
This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

ACTS 1:9-11 NIV
He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Jesus is coming back to the earth again!

MATTHEW 24:36,44 NIV
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. …44 You must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

LUKE 21:5-36 NLT
Some of his disciples began talking about the majestic stonework of the Temple and the memorial decorations on the walls. But Jesus said, 6 ”The time is coming when all these things will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!” 7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?” 8 He replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and saying, ‘The time has come!’ But don’t believe them. 9 And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won’t follow immediately.” 10 Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven. 12 But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. 13 But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. 14 So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, 15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you! 16 Even those closest to you—your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends—will betray you. They will even kill some of you. 17 And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish! 19 By standing firm, you will win your souls. …27 Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. 28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

Why is this important to know?

REVELATION 1:1-3 NIV
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it…

There’s

It’s important to see and know the

and that is found in the present person of Jesus.

REVELATION 1:12-19 NIV
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands, 13 and among the lamp-stands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hell. 19 “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.

The message of Revelation is not meant to scare, it’s meant to save.
The message of Revelation is that Jesus wins in the end.
The message of Revelation is that Satan loses in the end.
The message of Revelation is that with Jesus, you win in the end.
