Dream Chasers

As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.” “How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked.
Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.”
Then Nathanael exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!”
Jesus asked him, “Do you believe this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” —John 1:47-50 (NLT)

Just like Nathaniel, my dream is within reach by doing small things every day starting today.

This Weekend: What are the five steps required to chase your dreams?

1. Ask the questions: Does this Dream Matter?

“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”

There are only two things in our world today that will last forever: God’s Word and People.

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” —Isaiah 40:8 (NLT)

Does my dream align with the Word of God?

If my dream is accomplished, will it add value to other people?

2. Add fuel to turn your dream into a plan.

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. —Matthew 6:21 (NLT)

Where am I spending my money, time, and energy?

Do your planning and prepare your fields before building your house. —Proverbs 24:27 (NLT)

3. Pay attention to People.

God

Spouse

Kids

Close Relationships

Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle. —Exodus 17:12-13 (NLT)

A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
The church is God’s perfect plan for these relationships to be found and to flourish. —Proverbs 17:17 (NLT)

4. Review on a regular basis.

Pick your topics.
Pick your timeframe.

Spiritual - Emotional - Social
Vocational - Physical - Financial

Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. —1 Timothy 4:15 (NLT)

5. Develop an unwavering belief that God will make it happen.

Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness
while I am here in the land of the living. —Psalm 27:13 (NLT)
