1. Read Matthew 5:3-12. What response/posture is Jesus calling for his disciple to have/take in the face of adversity?
2. Read Matthew 5:13-16. What metaphors does Jesus use to describe the role of his followers in the world?
3. Reflect on Matthew 5:17-20. How does Jesus relate the concept of fulfilling the Law to his mission? What is the danger Jesus warns against regarding righteousness and the Pharisees?
