MESSAGE: the COVENANT of JOY
WHEN we SURRENDER… GOD takes our Dysfunction, Adds His DIVINITY, & Produces HIS DESTINY.
God Will Use the Dysfunction OF our Lives to develop HIS Destiny for Our Lives.
The CHRISTMAS SCENE is the CENTER PIECE of a Much Larger GOD STORY
Isaiah 9:3
ESV 3 You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as they are glad when they divide the spoil.
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The Darkness did not Hinder the DIVINE!
Galatians 4:4-5
When the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.
CHARACTERISTICS of COVENANTAL JOY:
1. Joy is Drawn from the TREASURY WITHIN US
2. Joy is a CHOICE we Make
3. Joy is a Product of my BELIEF
4. Joy is My IDENTITY as a Child of God
5. Joy is Found in JESUS
WE can Have CIRCUMSTANCIAL JOY
We were CREATED for COVENANTAL JOY!
Luke 2:8-11 BSB
8 And there were shepherds residing in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night. 9 Just then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: 11Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!
