We will be prepared! Acts 8:30-35 (Gal 2:20, 2 Cor 5:17, Luke 15:3-7)

We will grow! Acts 8:36-39 (Rom 10:9, Acts 2:38)

Small Group Discussion Questions

  1. Was there anything from the sermon that you found encouraging, challenging, or thought-provoking this week?

  2. Philip left a thriving ministry in Samaria to go to an unknown place, without knowing why (Acts 8:26-27). What makes it hard for us to respond like that when God calls us into something uncertain or uncomfortable?

  3. Philip ran toward the chariot when the Spirit prompted him (Acts 8:30). What would it look like for you to “run” in obedience instead of walking slowly or waiting?

  4. Philip not only went, but he was ready. How have your habits in Scripture, prayer, or worship shaped your ability to recognize God’s voice or respond when He leads? What habits are you working on? Which habits are harder to maintain for you and why?

  5. We discussed that responding to God’s calling is not just about “doing better,” but being compelled by Christ’s love (2 Corinthians 5:14). How do you tell the difference between striving in your own strength vs. responding to God’s love and grace?

  6. What would it look like to live this week as someone who has truly “been crucified with Christ” (Galatians 2:20)? What might change in your choices, your pace, or your prayers?

  7. This week’s key question was, “When God calls, how will we respond?”—so let’s make it personal: What’s one step of obedience, surrender, or preparation you feel God might be calling you into this week? How can we encourage each other to take that step?

  8. In the past how have you avoided sharing your faith? What stopped you, and what would help you feel more ready the next time?
