Believing Is Seeing

  1. There is little doubt that we’ve all heard the old adage, “Seeing is .”
  2. The problem with this old adage, “Seeing is believing,” is simply that it doesn’t always hold .
  3. The Pharisees were eyewitnesses to many of the miracles that Jesus performed, but even though they saw, they believe.
  4. Adam Clarke said that “the blindness of this person shall now become the instrument of salvation to his soul, edification to others, and glory to .”
  5. The Pharisees couldn’t figure out how Jesus could heal this blind man, while breaking the of the Sabbath at the same time.
  6. In John 12:46, Jesus said, “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness,” or can we say, “should not ?”
  7. Essentially, being excommunicated meant that you would have found yourself in the position of having true identity, and means of finding forgiveness of sin.
  8. Being excommunicated also meant that you could not approach God, nor have a relationship with Him because of your !
  9. Although it’s not found in the Scriptures, several historical sources reveal that this act of excommunicating someone from the religious system was an act referred to by the Pharisees as being “cast into the outer

    ”.

  10. The man’s faith had progressed to a certain point, but it became necessary to “take his belief even

    ” …. Could it be that Jesus is the Christos, the Messiah, the Savior, even the son of God?

  11. His faith progressed from believing the word about Jesus, =>to believing that He can make a difference, => to believing in the

    of Jesus Christ.

  12. When we come face to face with the opportunity of believing on Jesus, we can believe, trust, and put our faith in Him, or we can reject Him and refuse to believe His .
  13. When we reject Christ, it’s not Christ that judges us, but it is in fact, we that have judged .
  14. The Pharisees claimed to have spiritual sight, but Jesus simply told them that it was their very to spiritual sight that made them blind.
