Book of Nahum
Author: Nahum
Audience: people of Nineveh and maybe Judah
Genre: prophecies written in poetry
When: around 650 B.C.
Why: to declare judgement on the wickedness of Nineveh and show God’s power

Note: this book was written after Jonah’s prophecy of God’s judgement on Nineveh’s wickedness and King Sennacherib, the one who threatened Hezekiah, made Nineveh its capitol and had taken the northern kingdom of Israel captive.
