A. Yahweh’s name reveals his dependability and nature. Whenever God tells Moses, “I AM WHO I AM,” He is saying - “Whatever it is that I am, I AM that; that’s my name.”

B. We can depend on human beings sometimes to be who they are, but we can, in every situation, always depend on Yahweh to be who He is.

Exodus 34:5-7

A. The tendency to isolate certain characteristics of Yahweh leads us to believe in an inaccurate view of Him.

B. 5 character traits (verse 6) - compassion, gracious, slow to anger, loyal love, and faithfulness.

C. Yahweh describes how He has just acted in the story of Exodus (Ex. 32-33; 32:11-14).

D. Forgive: to carry; pick up; to bear the weight.

E. The revealing of what kind of God Yahweh is appears to be present in order to help Moses/the Israelites understand that He is committed to partnering with and loving them, however long it takes.
