Acts 10:17-33

10:17-20 | In His perfect timing, God simultaneously revealed an image and its meaning to Peter. The apostle was soon to understand that the Gentiles who were seeking him represented the formerly unclean animals. This message changed Peter’s life and the future of the church forever.

10:23 | Peter did something he had never done before: he invited three Gentile men into his lodgings to break bread and spend the night. Peter seemed to have some measure of concern, so he took some brethren with him. As the group of 10 men, seven Jews and three Gentiles, left Joppa for Caesarea, Peter was surely reflecting on the vision and the men with which he now traveled – the clean and unclean, all together in one group.

10:24-27 | A similar event occurred a few years later when Paul healed a man in the town of Lystra; the people started to worship him and Barnabas as gods who had come down from heaven. Paul and Barnabas immediately set them straight, declaring that it was God whom they should worship. Peter clarified that he too was just a man.
