God-Breathed Living

Day 121: When Everything Changes

Today’s Reading:
Deuteronomy 14–15, Psalm 104, Proverbs 30, Acts 9

Today’s Scripture: Acts 9:4–5 (NLT)
“He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’ ‘Who are you, Lord?’ Saul asked. And the voice replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!’”

Devotional:

This is the moment that flipped Saul’s whole life upside down.

One minute, he’s confident, self-assured, and on a mission to destroy followers of Jesus. The next, he’s face-down on the road, blinded by glory, and overwhelmed by a voice he never expected to hear.

And it wasn’t just any voice.
It was Jesus.

Saul thought he was doing God a favor. He was convinced he was on the right side of the story. But this encounter shattered his assumptions, dismantled his ego, and rewrote his identity. One conversation with Jesus reframed everything.

And it still does.

That’s the power of divine encounter. One moment in His presence can undo years of pride, pain, or wrong direction. One moment of clarity from Jesus can transform a persecutor into a preacher.

Maybe you’re not Saul. But maybe there’s an area in your life where Jesus is saying,
“Why are you fighting me on this?”

Sometimes the breakthrough we need doesn’t come through a new strategy. It comes through surrender.

Jesus isn’t looking to destroy you—He’s trying to redirect you.
And on the other side of your surrender is the kind of purpose that changes lives.

Reflection Questions:
1. Is there an area in my life where I’m resisting Jesus without realizing it?

2. What would full surrender look like right now in this season of my life?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, please confront anything in me that’s resisting You. Even if I’m convinced I’m right—shake me with Your truth. I don’t want to move in pride or stay stuck in old patterns. I want to follow You fully. Reframe my perspective. Redirect my path. Rewrite my story. I surrender again today—have Your way in me. In Your Holy Name, Amen.

Digging Deeper

Deuteronomy 14–15 focuses on how God’s people should live set apart—especially when it comes to generosity and care for the poor. The concept of the year of release teaches us to trust God as our provider and to reflect His heart by caring for those in need.

Acts 9 is the turning point for the man who would become Paul. But notice how the story doesn’t end at his encounter. God uses Ananias—a regular believer—to welcome, pray, and restore him. Revival doesn’t just need divine encounters; it needs obedient disciples willing to be part of the story.

Psalm 104 is a beautiful anthem of God’s creative majesty and sustaining power. From the oceans to the stars, God holds it all together. And that same God who paints the skies is able to rearrange the broken parts of your life.

Proverbs 30 humbles us with this truth: “Every word of God proves true.” Don’t add to it. Don’t edit it. Trust it. Let His Word speak louder than your opinion, your plan, or your fears.

You’re never too far gone.
You’re never too smart, strong, or stubborn for God to turn your life around.
The road to Damascus is still open. And Jesus is still showing up.
