1. THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN ETERNITY PRESENT

A. God’s plan: To

His Kingdom to all mankind.

1) The Messiah – King of prophecy.
GENESIS 3:15

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder…”

“… of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end…” ISAIAH 9:6-7

“And I bestow upon you a Kingdom, just as my Father bestowed one upon Me” LUKE 22:29

2) This King will also be a Savior (Jesus = “Jehovah Saves”).
LUKE 2:10-11

3) Both the kingdoms of men and of Satan that operate in opposition to God, will

REVELATION 11:15; REVELATION 19-22

“…then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power…” 1 CORINTHIANS 15:24-28

B. From the very beginning of His earthly ministry, Christ initiated the

of His Kingdom.

“Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel’” MARK 1:14-15; MATTHEW 4:17

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT JUST A DECLARATION; IT IS ALSO A DEMONSTRATION

THIS IS A PROMISE THAT IS NOT ONLY FULFILLED IN HIM (JESUS), BUT IN YOU AND THE PEOPLE OF YOUR CHURCH

C. Christ’s everlasting Kingdom is synonymous with His rule.
MATTHEW 5-7; MATTHEW 12:22-30; MATTHEW 13

God’s Kingdom was very

from what people expected. It was God’s Kingdom, not man’s kingdom (JOHN 8:36), and it would not manifest itself like an earthly kingdom, but in accordance with a will.

THE FATHER’S (GOD’S) WILL JOHN 5:16-23

D. This was a radical departure from what the Jews believed and what they expected and demanded from their Messiah.

They (Jewish religious leaders) wanted an earthly Kingdom with themselves on the top of the pile!

Sometimes leaders in the Body of Christ approach the Kingdom of God the same way. They want their own kingdom and they want to be on top of the pile.

We have not been called to be

“For He (Pilate) knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy” MARK 15:10

JESUS REJECTED MATTHEW 23:37-39; MATTHEW 27:15-26

F. In rejecting Jesus as the Messiah, they forfeited God’s PLAN for them.
