God is On the Move

May 18, 2025

Acts 1:15-26

1. God Is Faithful When Things Happen. (Vs. 15-17, Psa 69:4, John 15:25)

Psalm 69:4, “Those who hate me without cause are more numerous than the hairs of my head; my deceitful enemies, who would destroy me, are powerful. Though I did not steal, I must repay.”

John 15:25, “But this happened so that the statement written in their law might be fulfilled: They hated me for no reason.”

2. God Is Faithful When Transpires. (Vs. 18-20a, 25b; Luke 22:37; Matt 27:3-5; John 3:14-18; Psa 109:8)

Luke 22:37, “For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in me: And he was counted among the lawless. Yes, what is written about me is coming to its fulfillment.”

Matthew 27:3-5, “Then Judas, his betrayer, seeing that Jesus had been condemned, was full of remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders. “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” he said. “What’s that to us?” they said. “See to it yourself!” So he threw the silver into the temple and departed. Then he went and hanged himself.”

John 3:14-18, “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.”

Psalm 109:8, “Let his days be few; let another take over his position.”

3. God Is Faithful To All . (Vs. 20b-26; Rev 21:10, 12, 14; Prov 16:33; 1 Cor 15:11; Acts 12:1)

Revelation 21:10, 12, “He then carried me away in the Spirit, to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God… The city had a massive high wall, with twelve gates. Twelve angels were at the gates; the names of the twelve tribes of Israel’s sons were inscribed on the gates.”

Revelation 21:14, “The city wall had twelve foundations, and the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb were on the foundations.”

Proverbs 16:33, “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.”

1 Corinthians 15:11, “Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one born at the wrong time, he also appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles, not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.”

Acts 12:1, “About that time King Herod violently attacked some who belonged to the church, and he executed James, John’s brother, with the sword.”
