Here are some books which may assist you in deeper study and application of the truths presented in today’s sermon. While the elders cannot endorse every concept presented in each book, we do believe these resources will be helpful in profitably thinking through today’s topic.

The Questions for Spiritual Growth

Our Cornerstone mission is To Know Christ and Make Him Known. Community Groups help us to live out our mission as we discuss the Scripture passage from the sermon, how to apply it, and pray for one another.

  1. Explain the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ in 60 seconds or less. Why is it important to preach the gospel to yourself each day?

  2. How did God make peace with you? How does He maintain it?

  3. Why is it important to understand that Ephesians 6:15 doesn’t refer to the proclamation of the Gospel?

  4. What are some of the “flaming arrows of the evil one?” What enables the Christian to stand with confidence in the midst of the spiritual battle?

  5. Define faith. Why is faith necessary before we can resist Satan’s attacks?

  6. How is exercising your faith connected to obeying the Lord?

  7. Considering what you learned in Ephesians 6:15-16, how does God want your beliefs and actions to change?

  8. How by God’s grace can you accomplish the change?

  9. What are some practical steps you can take to pursue this change?
