OUR MISSION…to see lives changed through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
CHOICE 1: Realize I’m not God; I admit I’m powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable.
CHOICE 2: Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to him, and that he has the power to help me recover.
CHOICE 3: Consciously
“Come to me all you who are weary and overburdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (Ph)
BARRIERS TO GIVING JESUS CONTROL OF MY LIFE
HOW DO I GIVE JESUS CONTROL OF MY LIFE?
- I accept Jesus as my
“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.” Acts 16:31 (NLT)
2. I accept God’s Word as my
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)
3. I accept God’s will as my
“I desire to do your will, O my God…” Psalm 40:8 (NIV)
4. I accept God’s power as my
“I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” Philippians 4:13 (LB)
Talk It Over:
If you could control whatever you wanted to, what would it be?
What is something you have control over that you would like to get rid of?
What areas of your life are difficult to give to Jesus and why?
Read Matthew 11:28-30. What steps do I need to take to release control and continue to live in them?
Ask Jesus to grow your faith and name specific areas of your life you need to give to Him.
