Series Overview: It’s one of the most famous and documented accounts of scripture ever told: God supernaturally sets millions enslaved people free from the hand of a brutal Egyptian dictator and personally brings them to a place of paradise they would call home. What a story! We are so excited to take an in depth look at the 40 year journey from a Pharaoh to a Promised Land and see how many of the moments, miracles and mess-ups they experienced still serve to be a voice into our lives today. Here we go!
JOSHUA 1:1-2 NIV
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.
The two most underated words in the passage of scripture above could very well be the words “
PROVERBS 21:5 NIV
The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as
haste leads to poverty.
Dream =
Plan =
Don’t live a life embracing alterable conclusions.
JOSHUA 1:7 NIV
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law… do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
Dreams and destinies are chosen and planned.
Recent poll/study done on - The Power of Planning:
POLL:

- 60% give some thought toward their future.
- 10% claim to give serious thought toward their future.
- 3% give such serious thought, they have written out plans and goals to get there.
RESULTS:
- 97% of the people who claim to give no thought toward their futre were categorically and economically on welfare.
- 60% of those who claim to give some though to the future expressed they were barely making it.
- 100% of those who have given serious though are what we would call ‘sucessful people’ in our culture today.
- Those who had written out plans and goals were categorically what we call top acheivers in our nations. In fact, they were out-acheiving the group below them 10-1.
A plan is so important toward the accomplisment of a dream.
JOSHUA 3:14-17 NIV
So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. 15 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away…while the water flowing down to the Dead Sea was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.
He’s not just the God of the starting block, He’s also the God of finish line and every step leading to that finish line!
