John 11:4 NLT

But when Jesus heard about it he said, “Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.”

John 11:15 NLT

And for your sakes, I’m glad I wasn’t there, for now you will really believe. Come, let’s go see him.”

John 11:40 NIV

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

JESUS didn’t remove the stone. The people who loved him and Lazarus removed the stone.

John 11:41 NLT

So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me.

John 2:8 NLT

he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.

From water to wine and feeding the crowd with loaves and fishes, to raising Lazarus from the dead, people following Jesus’ instructions created an atmosphere for miracles.

Following Jesus turns hopeless situations into opportunities for God’s glory to be seen.

John 11:43-44 NLT

43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”
44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”

Deliverance from grave clothes can be a sticky, stinky uncomfortable process.

Proverbs 27:6 NLT

Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.

2 Peter 1:10 NLT

So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.

2 Peter 1:

v5 give all diligence to add to your faith…moral excellence, and knowledge.
v6 self-control, patient endurance, godliness.
v7 brotherly affection, love for everyone.

2 Peter 1:8-9 NLT

8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

TIFAW

God use me to remove obstacles that cover tombs of hopelessness and to take stained grave clothes off our resurrected friends.

Let what Jesus said about Lazarus’ impossible situation be our life assignment.

“It is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” (John 11:4)
