Are you a THERMOMETER, or a THERMOSTAT?

.Jeremiah 31:31-33
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

The Law cannot make people

. It can only point out unrighteousness.

The Law needs to move from external stone tablets to the internal recesses of our heart and mind.

The only way out of the Facade Quadrant is confession.

Confession to God to receive forgiveness, and confession to one another to experience healing. (James 5:16)

When we confess our sin, our insecurity, and our excuses to one another, 2 things happen:
(1) The enemy loses his grip over that because it’s brought into the light.
(2) It lets other people know they’re not the only one struggling the thing they’re also trying to keep a secret.

How have you experienced this when you’ve confessed your sin, insecurity, or excuse to someone?

Jeremiah says that God wants to write His Law on our minds and in our hearts.
God wants who you are on the inside to be who you are on the outside. (You no longer need to pretend)

The Law written on our minds and in our hearts is…

- Christ in us. (by the infilling of the Holy Spirit)

- Us in Christ.

- Hidden with Christ) in God.
