The Rider on a Donkey: There will come a

and righteous king, bringing to His people and to the world.

Zechariah 9:9 …Behold, your king is coming to you;
righteous and having salvation is he,
humble and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

The people of Zechariah’s time the things that fit their idea of a messiah and the parts they didn’t understand.

Matthew 21:9 And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

The crowd seemed to Him,but they still asked ?

(Zech 11:4-17) 30 pieces of silver (Mt27:3-10)
(Zech 13:7) Shepherd struck and the sheep scatter (Mt 26:31)
(Zech 10:4) The cornerstone (Acts 4:11)
(Zech 12:10) The one who is pierced (Mt 20:19, Jn 19:34)

In what area of your life are you the King’s authority?

THE PAUSE: 10 MINUTES WITH GOD

MONDAY | BEHOLD YOUR KING
PASSAGE: Zechariah 9:9
PAUSE: What are you looking for in Jesus? The Jews were looking for a miracle worker and a political advocate who would improve their lives. Today, we are no different; we want Jesus to improve our circumstances. But we may, too, miss the point of His coming. Jesus is to be our King; we are His chosen servants.
PRAYER: Father, help me to see Jesus as He is. Remove all my false narratives about Jesus. Today, I acknowledge Him as my King and my Lord.

TUESDAY | ON THAT DAY
PASSAGE: Zechariah 9:16
PAUSE: Jesus is coming back to establish His Kingdom. The world we live in today is not His kingdom yet. Therefore, Jesus told us to pray, “Your kingdom come.” Which day are you living for, today or the day that is still to come? Please take a moment and set your sights on the second coming of Christ.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, forgive me for all my anxiety and worry. I desire to remember Your plan daily, so show me how to seek Your kingdom first.

WEDNESDAY | WHO IS THIS?
PASSAGE: Matthew 21:10
PAUSE: Who is this? This is the question we must answer. For some, Jesus is a great teacher; for others, He is an example of love; for others, He is a prophet; still, others would say He is their personal Savior. But when Jesus entered Jerusalem, He presented Himself as the coming King and Lord!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for being the world’s Savior. Yet today, I want to embrace Your kingship and lordship. I commit myself to being Your kingdom servant who follows, obeys, and serves You faithfully.

THURSDAY | HOSANNA
PASSAGE: Psalm 118:25-26
PAUSE: Another Easter Egg is found in Psalm 118. The psalmist predicts Palm Sunday in Psalm 118, precisely the whole Passion of Christ. Carefully notice the prayer, “Save us (hosanna) and grant us success.” Because of Jesus, we should all pray that the Lord will deliver and grant us success in following Him.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are my God! Thank You for sending Jesus as my Savior, King, and Lord. I give You my heart and my life! I praise Your name.

FRIDAY | JESUS CLEANSES THE TEMPLE
PASSAGE: Matthew 21:12
PAUSE: Since Jesus is the King and Son of God, we must all repent of our sins and actions that dishonor His name and glory. Let’s pause and ask the Lord to clean out our own hearts and the sins of our church. Lord, forgive us of all our sins and cleanse us of all our unrighteousness. This is the cry of our hearts.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I permit You to walk around my life and church. Overturn any sins that bring You dishonor and shame. Let me glorify You!
