21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Day 20

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. —1 Corinthians 15:58

I will not be moved…you may have uttered those words when standing firm on a particular opinion. Whether you were right or not! Over the past 3 weeks you have been learning, praying, and fasting over Truth that is becoming a Firm Foundation for you to stand upon. Paul reminds us of the most important motivation to stand firm.

Resurrection is the theme of the whole chapter of I Corinthians 15. Repeatedly Paul emphasizes the difference the Resurrection of Christ makes in our lives. What is the truth of first importance, according to the Apostle Paul? He reveals the most important truth in verses 3 & 4.

Take time to read and reflect on this chapter. Pay attention to the phrase, “If Christ had not been raised. Count the times it is used and list the consequence shared by Paul each time he used the phase.

By this time, you should get the idea that the resurrection of Christ is not only a big deal, it is foundational to everything we believe v. 17. As Christ followers we serve a Risen Savior. That kind of power, resurrection power, is the bedrock of our faith in God. It is critical to our daily walk in a fallen world. It is in this power that God gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, v. 57.

On this truth we are urged to stand firm and not be moved. Not relying on the philosophies of this world to guide our thinking or the priorities of this world to guide our goals in life.

NOTES

Pray with Paul on this truth, I will not be moved!
