A TOUCH FROM JESUS

Matthew 8:1 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.

Matthew 8:2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

The leper suffers
• Physically
• Mentally
• Relationally
• Emotionally
• Spiritually

The sinner suffers
• Physically
• Mentally
• Relationally
• Emotionally
• Spiritually

The disease of sin is physically, mentally, relationally, emotionally, and spiritually destructive in our lives.

Without the saving work of Jesus in our lives, we are living life as the walking dead.

For some of us, it has been a long time since we have felt alive.

Matthew 8:2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Healing begins with humility.

Healing is an expression of faith.

Matthew 8:3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

Jesus is able to do anything.

There are times when our ideas of what is best are not the same as God’s.

Spiritual healing is God’s priority.

Matthew 8:3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Our sin does not defile the Healer. The Healer saves the sinner.

Titus 3:3-7 (NLT) Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. 4 But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

Matthew 8:3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

A touch from Jesus healed the past, brought life to the present, and gave hope for the future.

Matthew 8:4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Jesus is the one who can give you a new life!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

When Jesus touches your life, you are never the same!
