IN DEFENSE OF VOICELESS CHILDREN & VULNERABLE WOMEN

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. —John 10:10

The Devil’s mission is to destroy that which God loves. And at the top of this list is Human Life.

  1. Abortion is a tool of Satan to end human life.
  2. Abortion is man choosing to “play God.”
  3. Christ is for life. Jesus came to give life, protect life, and restore life.
  4. Like Christ, Christians must stand for life and protect human life.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. —Ephesians 5:11

“Arizona Abortion Access Act” A proposed constitutional amendment that would make abortion a “fundamental right” in Arizona.

The Arizona Abortion Access Act is an assault on God’s value and sovereignty regarding the sanctity of human life.

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” —Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Whereas every human life is valuable because every human life, born and pre-born, is wonderfully made in the image of God.

27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. —Genesis 1:27

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. —Psalm 139:13-14

Whereas abortion is the ending of an innocent human life, and results in danger and hurt towards women.

22 “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. —Exodus 21:22-25

6 “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. – —Genesis 9:6

Whereas the church is here to compassionately serve and support vulnerable women.

18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. —1 John 3:18

3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. —Psalm 82:3-4

Whereas abortion is not a political issue, but a biblical and moral one.

17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” —Mark 12:17

Whereas effort is underway to change the Arizona Constitution to allow children to be aborted during all nine months of development in the womb.

The undersigned Arizona pastors urge every person to refuse to provide a signature to put the “Arizona Abortion Access Act” on the ballot and should also vote against the Act, or any similar measure, if it appears on the ballot.

16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, —Proverbs 6:16-17

11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. —Ephesians 5:11

If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. —1 John 1:9

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. —2 Chronicles 7:14

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” —Edmund Burke

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS & PERSONAL REFLECTION:

Q1. (Read John 10:10) Do you see this battle happening in our world today? Where does the evil come from? Where does death and hurt come from? Where does life, and goodness, and hope, and peace from?

Q2. (Read Genesis 1:27 & Psalm 139:13-14) Who is the author of life? How does this form our view of the sanctity or value of human life?

Q3. (Read 1 John 3:18 & Psalm 82:3-4) Do God’s people have a responsibility to take real action to protect voiceless children (the unborn) and vulnerable women?

Q4. (Read Ephesians 5:11) What is our role amid darkness happening around us? Should we be ignoring it? What can you do to push back on the fruitless deeds of abortion on our state?
