Righteousness

“Flourishing are the ones hungering and thirsting for righteousness because they will be satisfied.” (5:6)

Mercy

“Flourishing are the merciful because they will be given mercy.” (5:7)

Purity

“Flourishing are the pure in heart because they will see God.” (5:8)

Peace

“Flourishing are the peacemakers because they will be called sons of God.” (5:9)

Suffering

“Flourishing are the ones persecuted on account of righteousness because the kingdom of heaven is theirs.” (5:10)

God is righteous so he loves to see us live rightly.
God is merciful, so he loves to see us be merciful.
God is pure in heart, so he loves to see us be pure in heart.
God is a peacemaker, so he loves to see us be peacemakers.
God suffered, he doesn’t love to see us suffer, but he relates to our suffering.
