The message I have to bring this morning has provoked much thought. I have been greatly contemplating it and weighing it, wondering if I should even give it at all. It comes in the form of a prophetic word that I received in 2013.

It is a rather hard word, so I think I have reread it at least 25 times in the last month, thinking about it and praying over it, asking the Lord to confirm it and make it plain. It is a word that still brings trembling to my soul.

Scriptural Foundation for Prophecy
Prophecy today is a gift of the Holy Spirit, as described in
1 Cor. 12:4-11“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit, and there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

Prophecy is the ability to speak God’s messages by supernatural revelation.

The Apostle Paul describes prophecy in 1 Cor. 14:3-4:
“But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” He also says that we should covet to prophesy. (1 Cor. 14:39)

Prophecy today does not hold the same weight as Scripture, therefore it must be judged by the Word of God. But prophecy is a gift that we need. Prophecy brings the Word of God into modern-day reality. It gives us the knowledge that God does exist and still cares about us today. His words are living and current, not just spoken thousands of years ago, but are NOW words. I don’t know how many people lately have asked me how a loving God can bring judgment and allow evil to exist in this world. How can people suffer and starve? How can violence and hatred exist? Does God even care? The world seems to be spiraling out of control. The Bible talks about the wrath of God. Can God be angry? And who will experience the brunt of God’s wrath? This prophecy seems to answer those questions. Therefore I thought it important to give it.

Prophetic Word

As you are contemplating My wrath, My anger toward situations, toward the world and society and toward people, either those in My Church or the ungodly, you have to look past legalism, hardness, what seems to be judgment or punishment, and realize that My anger, My righteous indignation stems from the cruelty, the appalling actions, the horrific character flaws that are causing the innocent to suffer: child abuse, abortion, spousal abuse, murder, rape, incest, sometimes mixed with the occult and witchcraft. All of the darkness of mankind, the things that I saw when I destroyed the pre-diluvian world and the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, I see today. It is prevalent and getting worse. The onslaught of the enemy, the demonic forces that are being unleashed on this earth are causing Me great distress. Not because I can’t do anything about it, but because, just like in ancient times, I grieve for the creation of My hands. You, who are made in the image of God, have chosen to adopt a different image, one of filth, depression, and perversion. I have given you the freedom to choose and most have chosen lies, most have chosen self, most have chosen death. The reason why I have allowed this world so long to exist in a state of destruction is that there are still those who will listen, those who will see and those who will choose Me. And I do not wish that any should perish. But the day will come when I can stand it no longer. I will unleash My mighty fury; My sword will I wield in the earth. Be discerning, because My wrath will be different than that of the destruction of the enemy, even though I may use him at times to chastise, as I did with the children of Israel. There is also a level of judgment that will happen because I have unfettered My Spirit to release angelic hosts to act, in order to persuade men, in order to put an end to the enemy’s devices. As the Body of Christ, you will need to be alert, be watchful. You will see things happen as it did in the book of Acts, even when Paul made people blind for a season when Peter spoke and Ananias and Sapphira fell down dead for their deceptive attitudes. There would be many dead people in churches today if I put that into practice right now. I have given you a grace period. I have put up with a lot. Mainly because the ministers of My gospel are not mature, are not ready for this to happen. They need My discipline first. There are too many power-hungry ministers, too many pastors fleecing the sheep, too many prayerless warriors. Pray for my wrath to be appeased and to be covered with my unconditional love. Sometimes it is all I can do to hold back my power when I see innocent ones in distress and hear their cries for deliverance. One day the cup will be full and the bowl will tip and I will hold back no longer. Be ready and prepared. Be prepared for revival, but also be prepared for persecution. Be prepared for glory, but also be prepared for darkness. Be prepared by seeking My face, listening to My voice and obeying Me in what I would have you to do. Do not run ahead, but also do not hesitate. I will direct you in surprising ways, in productive ways, and in the end you will be right where I want you to be.

Learn the difference between the fear of the Lord and My wrath. Those who fear Me will not experience My wrath. They will see My wrath poured out on others, but it will not touch them. Again I remind you about Psalm 91. Also Joshua 1:3-9. These are scriptures you can stand on for protection and direction. Remember, I am for you and not against you. Those who really have a heart for Me will know Me as their safe haven, their fortress and their refuge. You will come into the Ark and I will spare you from the destruction and evil that is coming upon the world. You will be that light in a dark place and many will be able to finally see and receive Me because of the testimony that you give. Encourage one another with these words and thoughts and do not have anxiety over what is coming. When you see it lift up your heads for your redemption draweth nigh. Saith the Lord.

Is God angry? God said that He is angry because the innocent are suffering as a result of our bad choices.

What are some of those bad choices?

  1. Idolatry
  2. Rebellion
  3. Perversion
  4. Iniquity
  5. Witchcraft

The nations of the world do these things all the time.
Ps. 2:2-5 “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.”

Israel also did all of these things which made the Lord angry.
2 Kings 23:26-27 “Notwithstanding the LORD turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that Manasseh had provoked him withal. And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.”

But God is not happy with the death of the wicked.
Ezek. 18:23 “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? Saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”

Ezek. 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD:
wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”

God withholds final judgment because He is patiently waiting for people to repent.
2 Pet. 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

God would rather that His goodness draws people to repentance.
Rom. 2:3-4 “And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despises thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee
to repentance?

However, if people will not respond to God’s goodness, then He has to send judgment.
Rom. 2:5 “But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.”

What is the standard by which God judges people?
John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

Why is God angry with people who do not accept Jesus?
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.”

John 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out,
and find pasture.”

If we do not accept Jesus and what He did on the cross for us, God cannot do anything else to save us. We have rejected His answer. Only the Holy Spirit can change hearts and we only get that when we accept Christ. Only those washed in the blood of the Lamb of God will be able to
enter life and peace and eternity with Him in heaven.

Rev. 5:9 “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”
1 Thess. 1:5-6; 9-10 “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake, and ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much
affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:… and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

Why does God chastise people who say they know Jesus, but do not live like it?
Heb.12:6, 10 “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth… that we might be partakers of his holiness.”

1 Pet. 4:17 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begins at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God.”

The Great Day of the Lord is Coming
Zeph. 1:14-15 “The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.”  Rev. 16:1 “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.”

How is the Wrath of God Different from the Destruction of the Devil?
God’s purpose for judgment is to purify. If God sends judgment it is the most merciful thing that
He can do. His works are redemptive. The devil just hates us and wants us destroyed because he
hates God.

Mal. 3:2-3 “But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he
appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver…”

The Church in the Last Days shall be Glorious and Triumphant.
Isa. 60:1-2 “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”

1 Thess. 5:9 “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus
Christ.”

God is our Refuge and Strength
Psa. 46:1-3 “GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the
swelling thereof.”

God wants to show us mercy; we need to pray for it.
Hab. 3:2 “O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”

James 2:13 “…mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
It is Time to Decide

Joel 3:14-16 “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the
heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”
