1: What We Behold, We Become
Colossians 3:1 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
You can’t look at the world six days a week and hope to reflect Jesus on the seventh.
C.S. Lewis famously stated, “If you read history, you will find that the Christians who did the most for the present world were precisely those who thought most about the next.”
2: Be Changed
What are you still wearing that feels comfortable, but God is calling you to get rid of?
Ephesians 4:22-24 “Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”
Our earthly nature will always win if we do not decide to daily put it to death.
3: Put It On!
Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.”
Stop beholding what’s breaking you and start beholding the One who can heal you.
