In Revelation 2:2–3, God commends the church at Ephesus for their acts of service, their steadfastness, and their commitment to truth and purity.
- How can one possess all these qualities yet still miss the mark?
Read Luke 10:27, John 14:21, John 8:31 and 1 John 2:5.
- Why is it so crucial for our love for Jesus to always take precedence over all else?
Read James 2:18-26.
- How do we balance our love for God, our faith in Him, and our works in a way that is pleasing to the Lord?

- God knows our true motives… nothing can be hidden from His sight. How can we examine ourselves daily (2 Corinthians 13:5) to ensure our hearts are in the right place and congruent with our actions?

Personal Reflection
- Ask the Lord to show you if your time spent doing things for Him at the expense of spending time with Him.
- As you go through this week and do spend time with the Lord, ask Him to show you what He sees when He looks at your life. If needed, remember, repent, repeat and get back to your first love!
