Glorifying Jesus: Holy Spirit

  1. In the past several weeks we’ve discussed 20 attributes of the Holy Spirit, and today we’ll discover one of His

    ones.

  2. Holy Spirit is known for many things, but I especially thank God that He’s my

  3. In relationship to Christ: The Holy Spirit’s work of testifying (John 15:26) and glorifying (John 16:14) concern the

    of Christ.

  4. In relationship to believers: The Holy Spirit’s work of teaching (John 14:26), guiding (John 16:13), showing (John 16:13,15), and bringing to remembrance (John14:26) concerns Christ and His

  5. In relationship to the world: The Holy Spirit’s work of reproving of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8) concerns Christ and His

  6. Greek word “Doxa” translated “glory” involves the “

of excellence” in the “character” of the person it refers to.

  7. It’s interesting to note that in our Christian hymns a “

,” (obviously derived from Greek: doxa) is sung to praise and worship God and Jesus. Many times, such worship will “bring the glory of His presence and power,” including a physical, tangible feeling and an awareness of His manifested weightiness! (As the Scripture says, He dwells in our Praises!)

  8. Six areas where we see the “activity of the Holy Spirit” in major events of Jesus’ life:
    The Holy Spirit was instrumental:
    1. a. in the

    of Jesus.
    2. b. at Jesus’ when He began His earthly ministry.
    3. c. at Satan’s of Jesus in the wilderness.
The Holy Spirit was present and active:
    4. d. at Jesus’ from the dead.
    5. e. at .
    6. f. From John chapter 17, we know that Holy Spirit will be present at the of Jesus in heaven.

  9. Besides all the benefits Holy Spirit provides to us, another of His purposes is to see to it that JESUS CHRIST be GLORIFIED by His

    !

  10. R.A. Torrey once said, “It is only through the testimony of the Holy Spirit that men ever come to a true knowledge of

    .”

  11. Whether to the Church or to the world, the Holy Spirit has

, but that of Jesus Christ.

  12. True exploits by the Holy Spirit not only show us that it’s

by our own might and power, but by and through Him, which results in the glorification of Jesus.

  13. The Holy Spirit seeks to glorify Jesus in every aspect of

life, including conversations, behavior, and relationships. He wants lips to be filled with Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!
