They wanted a King like David
1 Samuel 8:5
and said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”
We tend to be selfish and see things the way we want to see them. We want what we want. The truth is, we don’t know what we need.
Every time God’s people put thier faith in earthly
John 12:12-19
The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!” Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:
“Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming,
Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.
Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness. For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”
Every king has left us longing, except for one.
Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.
Their thoughts were that Jesus came to conquer kingdoms, but He came to save the nation, them and even us.
We still think God is going to solve all of our problems, at times we need to grow through the problem. When we do it our way, it is like a cycle (over and over again), recycling.
Jesus is not here to meet your need, He came to win our deepest battle,
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Do we live like Jesus is our King?
Jesus, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
You need to establish 2 things:
1. Cultivate Belief =
2. Maintain Belief =
