Series Recap: Plateaued

Seen but not decided

Decided but not Following

Following but not changing

This is an important week because this is God’s ultimate plan for you.

What is God’s plan for us?

God’s plan is that we would become Disciple Makers.

This is important for us because because moving through the first three plateau’s we’ve received a lot from God

    Salvation

    Knowledge

    New Life and Freedom

Why do we get stuck and often never enter into this final destination?

Genesis 11:1-9 NIV

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward,[a] they found a plain in Shinar[b] and settled there.
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel[c]—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Genesis 12 NIV

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2
“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.[a]
3
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”[b]
4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

What did God say?

I will accomplish everything you set out to accomplish in the tower but it has to be done my way.

Goodness will be brought into the world THROUGH YOU.

God placed the responsibility for the world to know about him on people through Abraham.

God’s plan A to see the world transformed by his goodness, grace, and love is a people of disciple makers.

If we will believe this every barrier that plateaued us begins to melt away.

God uses imperfect people who don’t have it figured out because there are no other kinds of people on Earth.

Abraham and every one of us are carriers of the problem and carriers of the solution.

We we wait until we have it all figured out we’ll never start.

        Romans 10:13-15

13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”[f]
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”[g]

        *Matthew 25:40 NIV

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’*

        Matthew 28:18-20 NIV

* 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”*
