Read 1 Thessalonians 2:13-20 ESV

1. Icebreaker: Would you rather write a letter or receive a letter? What are the meaningful benefits of both?
   

2. What do you think made the Thessalonians so dynamic in their faith? What clues can you find in chapters 1-2?
   

3. If the following statement is true, what are the implications for us today? The Bible is God’s revealed Word to mankind and not the word of man about God.
   

4. Read verse 13 again. What work has God’s Word done in your life in the past year? Is His working in your life primarily maturing your mind, your actions, or both? Briefly explain.
   

5. What spiritual opposition, based on point #2 of the sermon, are you discerning in our local culture recently?
   

6. Which aspect of gospel community stands out to you from this passage and/or sermon (point #3)? How would you like to grow in this aspect of your faith?
