A. Jesus presented heaven as something that can be partially

here, now!

B. Heaven is

to us than we might think.

II. God wants to invade every moment of our lives with a sense of His

, loving us, working in us, and then working through us to bless others!

A. Jesus talked about both a

and a dimension of our experience of heaven.

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. —John 14:1-3 (NASB)

B. The best thing about heaven will be

the presence of Jesus non-stop!

III. God’s

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish. —Matthew 18:12-14 (NIV)
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done.’ All that are in Hell choose it.” —C.S. Lewis
God did not create hell because he’s mad, he wants to see people suffer, and he enjoys torturing them for eternity. The only reason there is a hell is because God makes provision for what people want, and hell is simply the best God can do for some people.” —Dallas Willard, The Allure of Gentleness

Practical Application:
1. He’s done everything He could do to be in a relationship with you, but now the decision is yours.

2. Consider praying a version of the Lord’s prayer every morning, inviting His Kingdom to come and His will to be done in your life and through your life.

3. Recognize Jesus wants to work through you on a daily basis to help people move closer to Himself!

4. Look for ways the Kingdom of Heaven is invading earth and celebrate it every time it does!

Note on this series:

We encourage you to purchase the book Grown-Up Faith by Kevin Myers and read through it as you track with the summer message series. Messages will still be meaningful if you don’t read the book but it will help you take a deeper dive into biblical responses for big questions of the faith.
