Luke 8:26-39

8:26-34 | With every event, the disciples learned more and more about Jesus. They witnessed His power over the wild storm. Next, they encountered a wild man possessed by many demons. This sequence is no accident. Jesus demonstrated His power over both the natural and the supernatural in back-to-back miracles.

8:32-39 | The villagers’ fear turned to alarm when Jesus sent the demons out of the man and into their herd of swine. Supernatural power is one thing, but significant economic loss because of it is something else entirely. When the people urged Jesus to leave, He quickly complied. But Jesus left behind the man whose life had been changed, and this man spread the word, proclaiming throughout the city what great things Jesus had done for him. When someone encounters Jesus, he or she cannot help but share the story.
