Our Advantage: Holy Spirit

  1. Merrill Tenney, an American Greek Scholar and Professor said, “The Spirit does not merely accuse men of sin, He brings to them an inescapable sense of so that they realize their shame and helplessness before God.”
  2. Frederick Bruce, a scholar trained in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew once said, “The Spirit is the ‘advocate’ or helper of those who believe in Jesus, their counsel for their . But in relation to unbelievers, to the godless world, He acts as counsel for the .” It’s important to have the Spirit of God: but His duty to defend us or to convict us, is really up to… us!
  3. The Holy Spirit first convicts the world of its sin; then the believer of their righteous-ness through Christ (which He gives to every true believer); and finally, He will convince everyone of Satan’s .
  4. It’s sad to see that Jesus’ disciples weren’t concerned about what was going to happen to Jesus, because they were only preoccupied with what was going to happen to !
  5. Unfortunately, they failed to realize that His departure was an essential step in their as disciples.
  6. Obviously, it was to that Jesus obeyed Father God and “departed” so that the Holy Spirit would come to live in us!
  7. Isn’t it something to think that Jesus ever did was for the sole advantage of mankind?
  8. God provided an escape from His judgment for us, by having the Holy Spirit convince us that we the righteousness of Jesus Christ when we A.B.C.: Admitted we are a sinner, Believed in Jesus Christ, and Confessed Him as our Lord and Savior.
  9. The Holy Spirit’s job is to “fully convince” us that “the prince of this world” is “ judged,” and he is NOT going to win!
  10. Satan is ruling and dominating unsaved people in the world and has his hands in every area of their lives, but his activity is about to come to an end because he has already been judged ( ) by God.
  11. There are a few definitions for “krino”, but the best one in this situation speaks of a decision having already been made where there is no more of the issue.
  12. Jesus completely and utterly Satan through His death on the Cross and His Resurrection.
  13. We serve a God who does not - and cannot- lie! He will see to it that every word He, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit ever speak will be fulfilled!
