You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14
As believers, we are called not only to walk in the light but to embody and radiate the very essence of God’s light in a world overshadowed by darkness.
START THINKING ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE ENTHRONED rather than
WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED FROM.
KNOWING who you are is going to cause you to walk in holiness more than trying to resist darkness…
LIGHT does not resist darkness - it SHINES.
Galatians 5:16 - 17
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
Too many Christians think their insulation from doing bad things… is HAVING GREATER DISCIPLINE.
DISCIPLINE DOES NOT INSULATE YOU FROM THE LUST OF THE FLESH!
FASCINATION OF WHAT GOD IS DOING KEEPS YOU FROM IT!
- SUPERIOR REALM is the realm of the SPIRIT…
- FASCINATION will deal with DISTRACTION.
1. BORN TO
YOU WILL ALWAYS FUNCTION OUTWARDLY AS A CONSEQUENCE OF WHAT
YOU BELIEVE INWARDLY
When Adam sinned - he allowed the sin nature to change what he believed inwardly.
ADAM’S SIN DID NOT CHANGE GOD…
- GOD WAS STILL SHOWING UP FOR THE WALK WITH MAN…
- ADAM JUST WAS NOT DOING IT.
ENOCH WALKED WITH GOD. Genesis 5:24
- Jesus had not died yet.
- Enoch was not sinless.
ENOCH DID NOT ALLOW THAT TO CHANGE WHAT HE KNEW ABOUT GOD.
ENOCH WALKED AS ADAM WALKED BEFORE SIN.

1 Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children. The reason the world doesn’t recognize who we are is that they didn’t recognize him.
2 Beloved, we are God’s children right now; however, it is not yet apparent what we will become. But we do know that when it is finally made visible, we will be just like him, for we will see him as he truly is.

SAME MEASURE of LIGHT. =
“WE WILL BE JUST LIKE HIM FOR WE WILL SEE HIM AS HE TRULY IS”
The reason many believers walk in defeat is because they have forgotten what kind of person they are…
- They have been seated with Christ, but they are still crawling in the dirt of doubt.
- They have been crowned with authority, but they are still begging like orphans.
We are not waiting for more light — we are called to be the light.
A CITY on a HILL SHINES from elevation. Not just for decoration, but for
When Jesus said you are a city on a hill, He was not just giving you a compliment -
He was giving you a commission.
- Your shine gives others sight.
- Your worship in the storm gives others a window out of theirs.
Your life is prophetic illumination.
When your light shines, darkness does not negotiate - it retreats.
Ephesians 5:1
1 “Be imitators of God, as beloved children.”
- You were made in His image to walk in His nature!
- You are from the Light, returning to the Light, in order to be the Light.
Ephesians 5:8 “LIVE as children of light.”
1 Thessalonians 5:5 “You are all children of the light and children of the day.”
Light pollution = Is when artificial light clouds your view of the real light in the night sky.
In the same way, the world has tried to drown out the glory of God’s light with:
- Artificial morality through politics
- Artificial identity through media and filters
- Artificial truth through wokeness and redefined values
GOD DID NOT CALL YOU TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT,
HE CALLED YOU TO BE PROPHETICALLY CONTAGIOUS.
The THEME in this scripture that talks about what it means to be “THE LIGHT”!
Not only were we saved from darkness, we were saved for real authentic GOD-LIGHT!
You have the North Star anointing.
That means in the darkest night, your life points people home.
In a world confused by false lights, your authentic light becomes a compass for broken travelers.
The North Star does not try to shine - it just stays fixed and burns bright.
People for generations have found their way because it refused to move.
- You are a BEACON!
- You are a BREAKTHROUGH!
- You are a BURNING ONE!
2. THINK
Romans 12:2
2 Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Transformed is the Greek word metamorphóō, the same root where we get the word metamorphosis — like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
God did not save you to modify you — He saved you to metamorph you!
Transformation does not start in your behavior - it starts in your brain.
Your life will never rise higher than your thoughts.
Transformation is not about trying harder — it is about thinking higher.
- Eastern mysticism stole meditation from the Bible first.
- New Age tried to steal light from us.
HERE IS THE DIFFERENCE…
- Meditation in EASTERN MYSTICISM = empty your mind
- Bible = FILL YOUR MIND WITH GOD’S WORD.
- New age = YOU HAVE LIGHT… it is hidden ~ just MANIFEST IT
- Bible = HE IS LIGHT and shines THROUGH YOU!
THE WORLD’S MESSED UP WAY = all about you…
GOD’S WAY = ALL ABOUT LOOKING AT HIM!
BECOMING IS A RESULT OF
Ephesians 4:23 – 24
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Your mind has an attitude — and that attitude is either attracting HIS presence or grieving it.
The phrase “be made new” in the Greek means a continual renewal.
Not just a one-time upgrade — a daily download from heaven’s mainframe.
When your mind gets renewed, your nature gets rewired.
The new self is not a better version of the old you — it is a Jesus-infused identity that radiates righteousness and holiness.
Shadow Mindset vs. Light Mindset: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…”
- A shadow only exists because there is light somewhere near!
Stop giving your testimony to the darkness and start giving your worship to the Light.
3. INTIMACY IS THE
James 4:8
8 “Come near to God and He will come near to you.”
🔥 You do not become light by trying harder. You become light by coming closer.
ENOCH WAS ABOUT PROXIMITY not performance…this is a union with the flame of HIS presence.
You cannot shine without the
- Proximity produces radiance.
- Closeness creates clarity.
Light is not learned….
Light is caught in the fire of communion.
You will not reflect the glory of a God you will not draw near to.

- DO NOT “DO A BIBLE STUDY” when you read the Word.
Read it, then let Him speak to you… close your eyes and hear the whisper.
